Women’s Health Acupuncture in London
Holistic, evidence‑informed support for hormonal balance, menstrual health, pain, and long‑term wellbeing
Women’s health is complex, cyclical, and deeply interconnected. Hormones, stress, digestion, sleep, inflammation, and emotional load all influence how the body feels month to month — and how symptoms show up across the lifespan. At A D Acupuncture in Brockley, South East London, we specialise in acupuncture for women’s health, offering a whole‑body, root‑focused approach that supports menstrual health and hormonal regulation at any stage of life.
Evidence shows that acupuncture supports blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, manage pain and rebalance hormones.
Why Women’s Health Needs a Whole‑Body Approach — And Why Our Clinic Excels at It
Women’s health is never just about hormones or periods in isolation. Symptoms like endometriosis pain, PCOS‑related cycle changes, PMS, fatigue, bloating, or mood shifts are shaped by the entire ecosystem of the body — the nervous system, digestion, sleep, circulation, inflammation, stress load, and emotional wellbeing. When one system is under strain, others compensate, often creating the complex symptom patterns so many women experience.
This is why a whole‑body approach is essential. Acupuncture works across several mechanisms and our practitioners work across several modalities. Not only using acupuncture, but also considering diet, lifestyle and biomedical support to provide truly holistic care.

Alice Douglas, our founder and Director, brings a rare level of expertise to this work: she is the only acupuncturist with a Master’s degree in Women’s Health, giving her advanced clinical training in reproductive endocrinology, menstrual physiology, pain science, and integrative approaches to women’s health conditions. This knowledge and understanding is instilled across our team.
Acupuncture for Endometriosis
Endometriosis affects 10% of women of reproductive age (WHO,2025). And the wait time to diagnosis is only growing in the UK. In March 2026, Endometriosis UK announced an average time to diagnosis at 9 years, 4 months, a substantial increase from the 8 year average in 2020 (Endometriosis UK, 2026). Luckily, Chinese Medicine doesn’t require a diagnosis to be impactful. Acupuncture uses symptoms to understand and address imbalances.
A fantastic quality systematic review and meta-analysis concluded acupuncture treatment for endometriosis demonstrated clinically relevant improvements in pelvic pain and should be considered as a treatment intervention (Giese, 2023).
Chinese Medicine appreciates that Endometriosis does not only result in period pain, but often a cascade of symptoms that can impact daily life. Acupuncture is a holistic medicine and therefore understanding all the ways endometriosis is affecting you and your health is essential. It is also important to consider how endometriosis may affect the reproductive life course. This is something we are very equipped at navigating. No matter where you are in understanding and managing your endometriosis, our practitioners can help you to feel balanced, supported and empowered.
